Wild Turkey Rare Breed ist ein sehr guter, besonders starker Bourbon - also ein richtiger single proof, dass heißt, er wird unverdünnt und direkt vom Fass abgefüllt, wodurch seine Stärke und der hohe Alkoholgehalt resultiert. Dieser Bourbon ist eine Vermählung von Wild Turkey 6, 8 und 12 Jahre und gibt diesem Whiskey einen reichen, außergewöhnlichen Geschmack, der von Kennern geschätzt wird. Seit Ende 2018 ist er in einer verbesserten Ausstattung erhältlich.

Wild Turkey
wild turkey whiskey - markenseite sorten-übersichtWild Turkey gehört zu den bekanntesten Bourbon Whiskey Marken und stammt aus einer Destillerie, die bereits 1869 im US-Bundesstaat Kentucky gegründet wurde. Nachdem sie 1919 während der amerikanischen Prohibition schließen musste, fand im Jahr 1933 die Wiedereröffnung statt. Sieben Jahre später brachte einer der Geschäftsführer den eigenen Bourbon Whiskey zu einer Jagd auf Truthähne (englisch: wild turkey) mit. Der Whiskey kam so gut an, dass die Teilnehmer ihn auch im nächsten Jahr trinken wollten, so dass der umgangssprachliche Begriff zum Markenname wurde. Heute ist Wild Turkey noch immer für hervorragenden Bourbon Whiskey bekannt. Dazu zählt unter anderem der Wild Turkey 101 Proof, aber auch der Rare Breed ist nicht nur bei Liebhabern von Bourbon Whiskey sehr begehrt. 2018 hat die gesamte Range eine Auffrischung ihrer Ausstattung erfahren. Verzugsweise pur genossen finden die Destillate der amerikanischen Whiskey-Marke aber auch gern in typischen Cocktails ihre Verwendung.
